Illustrations for Chapters 20 and 32 of Carlo Collodi’s novel Pinocchio. In preparation for this project, I read all of Pinocchio to get a feel for the tone of the original book. My class also visited the son of an Italian illustrator, Leo Mattioli, to see a variety of Pinocchio illustrations he and his father had collected over the past several decades, including Mattioli's own original work.
